Peter Joachim 1942-1959

PETER JOACHIM
PETER JOACHIM died in a shooting accident at his home A10 Lawrence Terrace, Lucknow in April (?) 1959. He was just 17. 
Peter and a buddy, Dicky Tristram were said to have been shooting at crows that perched on the lightening conductor on the dome of the hospital behind his apartment building. A crow he was aiming at flew as he was to fire. In frustration he put the gun down butt first and the gun discharged killing him on the spot. He was buried in the Nishatganj Cemetery.
Peter belonged to a railway family and studied in St Francis School (now college), Lucknow.
MATILDA RAYMONDA JOACHIM, Peter's mother, died in the USA on the 19th March 2002 at the age of 92. She was born on 24th February 1909. One of Peter's sisters, Jacky, who remained unmarried, still lives in Lucknow. Mr Joe, short for Joachim, died several years later in Lucknow.

Valarie Savaille Perry

Valarie who died from cancer was a teacher who had taught in a number of leading schools of Lucknow, including La Martiniere College. Her husband, Tony, who a few years ago retired from the  UP Raj Bhavan domestic staff, belongs to an old musician family. After retirement he continues to play guitar at weddings etc. Three of his four daughters are teachers.

LEONARD GREGORY, born 1925, NER engine driver from Gorakhpur, UP, died in Lucknow 1955 was buried in the Nishatganj Cemetery, Lucknow.
Pic: Daughter Linda McGuigan, who was very tiny when her father passed away, visited the grave January 2013. She lives in Brisbane, Australia. Her mother presently lives in Adelaide.
Soloman Joseph Gregory also a railway man and Leonard's father died approx a year before him and is buried nearby.
